SUBJECT:  Commercial Burglar Arrested and Charged

LOCATION: Berkeley Avenue in Ocean Township     
 
ACCUSED: Mashon D. Wilson 32 year old male of Asbury Park, NJ
 
NARRATIVE:   On August 1^st, 2023 at approximately 9:00 am Detective Steven Walker was dispatched to a business on Berkeley Avenue for a report of a burglary that had occurred during the overnight hours.  The reporting party advised that they observed the suspect enter the business via surveillance video and remove items before exiting when the alarm sounded.  Detective Michael Legg conducted a follow investigation and identified the suspect as Mashon D. Wilson.  Wilson responded to police headquarters and was interviewed by Detectives Legg and Schoch.  During the interview, Wilson admitted to entering the business on Berkeley Avenue as well as another business on Rt. 35 in the same area.  Wilson was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Burglary and one count of Theft.  He was processed and released on a summons pending an initial court appearance.
