Flood Advisory until 04:00PM

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Colorado, within Mesa Verde National Park in Montezuma County.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is possible, along with rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1259 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.3 and 0.7 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Ute Canyon, Mancos River, Moccasin Canyon, Navajo Canyon, Grass Canyon, Johnson Canyon and Lewis Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... mainly rural areas of South Central Montezuma County - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* AFFECTED AREAS: MONTEZUMA, CO

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
