INCIDENT: Failure to Yield, Driving Under the Influence
LOCATION: Chapman Heights Road & Pembrook Place, Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Dylan Osborne, a 19-year-old resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On Friday, August 12, 2023, at about 12:33 a.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Station observed a 2008 Ford Mustang traveling at a high rate of speed on Sand Canyon Road, heading east from 16th Street. Deputies attempted to stop the Mustang, driven by Dylan Osborne, for the excessive speed. Osborne sped away from deputies and almost lost control as he turned east onto Champman Heights Road.
Osborne failed to yield as deputies attempted to stop him with emergency lights and sirens. Osborne drove more than 80-miles-per-hour and did not stop at the multiple intersections. Osborne lost control of the Mustang as he attempted to turn south onto Pembrook Place. The Mustang drove through a block wall, collided with a tree, and slammed against the side wall of the residence’s garage. Debris from the collision penetrated the wall and windows, throwing bricks and glass into the garage’s interior. No one was injured inside the home.
Osborne climbed out of the driver’s window and attempted to flee on foot; however, he was quickly taken into custody. Osborne was uninjured from the collision but was highly intoxicated. Osborne was arrested, taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, and then booked into the Central Detention Center for Evading a Peace Officer – Reckless, and Driving Under the Influence >.08.
