INCIDENT NARRATIVE: On August 12th, 2023 at approximately 6:36 p.m. Amsterdam Police patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Ford 500.  Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle it was discovered that the vehicle he was operating was without insurance and had fraudulent license plates.  At that time the driver of the vehicle was identified as Tigris L. Hobbs.  Hobbs was issued uniformed traffic tickets and was released from the scene.  The vehicle Hobbs was operating was towed from the scene to a secure location where a safe inventory search of the vehicle could be conducted.  Upon searching the vehicle officers located a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, two boxes of ammunition, and two vials containing anabolic steroids. Both of which are classified as Schedule III controlled substances.  Due to the inventory search findings additional charges were filed with Amsterdam City Court against Hobbs.  On August 14th at roughly 1:21PM Hobbs was located by Amsterdam Police patrol officers and taken into custody without incident. Hobbs was processed and arraigned in Amsterdam City Court by the honorable Judge Lisa W. Lorman on the new charges and was remanded to the custody of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
