Flood Advisory until 07:00AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following county, Fairfield. Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Hudson and Union. Portions of southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 500 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1/2 to locally 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Elizabeth, Stamford, Flatbush, Norwalk, New Rochelle, Flushing, Bayonne, White Plains, Mott Haven, Hoboken, East Tremont, Hackensack, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Port Chester, Glen Cove and Bergenfield. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
