Felony OWI 5th Offense 
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:00 am, a Middleton Police officer observed a red sedan driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the 6700 block of University Avenue. The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Javier Perez-Jimenez, a 30-year-old man from Middleton.
The officer noted a strong odor of intoxicants and attempted to administer standardized field sobriety testing, but the driver refused to perform the test. Perez-Jimenez was arrested for fifth offense Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).
Perez-Jimenez was taken to a nearby hospital to obtain blood evidence by way of a search warrant. Perez-Jimenez was then booked into Dane County Jail for fifth offense OWI, a felony. He was also cited for Improper Right Turn, Operating after Revocation, and Operating Left of Center.
