Person with a Gun and Knives Arrested

On August, 14, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Officers were dispatched to a report of person with a gun and knives behind the FoodMaxx, located at 605 Rohnert Park Expressway. When Officers arrived, they located an adult female and observed she was in possession of a handgun and knives. The female failed to follow commands that were given by the Officers and walked away from the Officers into the Copeland Creek ravine just west of the Copeland Creek Trail.
After two hours of utilizing de-escalation techniques, the female’s actions necessitated Officers react quickly in an effort to prevent any harm to her or the Officers at the scene. As a result, the female was struck with two 40mm sponge rounds and taken into custody without further incident. She was found to be in possession of one imitation handgun that was later determined to be a BB gun and two knives (see attached photos).
The female sustained bruising as a result of the sponge rounds, and one Officer sustained injuries as a result of a dog bite by a police canine during the incident. The female and the Officer were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for their injuries and released.
After being released from the hospital, Danielle Lormer, a 41-year-old female resident of Rohnert Park, was transported to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility and booked on one felony count of 1203.2 PC – Violation of probation, one felony count of 21310 PC – Carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, and one misdemeanor count of 148(a)(1) PC – Delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
During this incident, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety was assisted by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, and the Santa Rosa Police Department.
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at 707-584-2600 and refer to Case #23-2912.
