* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Alamance County in central North Carolina... Northeastern Randolph County in central North Carolina... Southeastern Guilford County in central North Carolina... Northwestern Chatham County in central North Carolina...

* Until 415 PM EDT.

* At 328 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of Elon, or 12 miles southwest of Burlington, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar observed. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include... Burlington, Graham, Mebane, Gibsonville, Liberty, Haw River, Swepsonville, Alamance, Staley and Lake Guilford Mackintosh Marina. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 135 and 155.
