Incident Summary

On August 16, 2023, at approximately 2:21 PM, personnel from the Petaluma Police Department were diligently working the Safe Routes to School program as this was the first day of school for most schools in Petaluma.  An Officer was in the area of Petaluma High School preparing to monitor traffic for school dismissal time at 2:25 PM.  At the above listed time, the Officer observed a vehicle speeding in front of the High School and made an enforcement stop contacting the driver (England).  Upon contact, England displayed symptoms of intoxication.  During the investigation, Officers determined England was driving under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.  It was determined that England was driving with a blood alcohol content of more that 4 times the legal limit of .08%.  England was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on the above listed charges.
