Suspicious Incident Resolved
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:35pm, South Brunswick Police received a phone call about a distraught man in a home on Olsen Court. The reporting person told police the man in the home was homicidal and had barricaded himself in the home. A dozen officers responded to the neighborhood and set up a perimeter as they attempted to make contact with the man. Detectives were able to make contact with the man and determined he was not in the home and was out of state. Officers then made contact with a female who was in the home and had her come out of the home. Officers searched the home to confirm there were no problems.
Further investigation determined the initial report was false. Officers tracked the initial caller to a local hotel. Officers met up with the initial caller and determined she was actually suffering a mental health emergency. The initial caller was taken to an area hospital for treatment
