TROPICAL STORM WATCH FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND CITY OF ROSEMEAD
The National Weather Service has updated its Hurricane Hilary advisory to a Tropical Storm Watch for Los Angeles County, including the City of Rosemead. Additionally, a Flood Watch has been issued beginning at 5 a.m. Sunday, August 20th through 11 p.m. Monday, August 21st.
The Rosemead Public Safety Department is actively monitoring the situation and is coordinating City resources to respond to any issues that may arise. The storm’s biggest impact is expected Sunday afternoon, and residents are encouraged to avoid any unnecessary travel during this time. Periods of high winds, heavy rains, and localized flooding may occur. Due to high winds, electrical power may be impacted.
The City encourages the public to stay informed and have essential supplies ready in case of any emergency.
1. Emergency supplies. Assemble emergency supply kits that include essential items such as non-perishable food, water, medications, flashlights, batteries, and personal hygiene. Please visit Ready gov/kit to view detailed information about what to pack in your emergency kit.
2. Sandbags. Sandbags are available at Fire Station 47, located at 5946 N. Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
