As of 08/19/2023 at 12:00 PM, National City Fire Department and Public Works have provided over 1,500 sandbags. We are currently out of sandbags and are working on securing more for the residents of National City. Additionally, Public Works is working hard to prep the storm drain systems to handle the expected rainfall. National City Police Department has deployed a homeless outreach team to notify the unhoused of the coming storm.  The National Weather Center forecast projects 1.5” – 2.0” of rainfall for coastal San Diego areas.

• Use the National City Connect app to report flooded roadways in heavy rains if you cannot see the pavement.
