Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Juvenile Female
 
San Mateo Police Department arrest man after he sexually assaulted a juvenile female.
 
San Mateo, CA – On August 17, 2023, at 11:12 p.m., Officers received a report concerning the sexual assault of a juvenile female victim.  The father of the victim reported the incident took place on the 2300 block of Holland Street. 
 
Several officers responded to the location.  Immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of the victim.  San Mateo Police Department undertook a thorough investigative process, including witness interviews, evidence collection, forensic interviews, and coordinating department resources. 
 
During the investigation, officers learned the suspect, identified as Luciano Alvarez Valencia, knew the victim and the victim’s family, and the incident occurred at Alvarez Valencia’s residence.  Alvarez Valencia had left the scene of the crime prior to police arrival.  Officers conducted an extensive search for Alvarez Valencia over the course of multiple hours.  Alvarez Valencia was located on August 18, 2023, at 7:40 a.m. in the back yard of a house located on the 1300 block of Adrian Avenue.  Alvarez Valencia was placed under arrest and booked into San Mateo County Jail.

Luciano Alvarez Valencia, a 43-year-old San Mateo resident
Charges: 288.3 PC- Contact minor with intent of committing a sex crime or felony involving a minor.  261.5(a) PC- Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
