If you live, work in or are near the Sand Canyon community, please pay close attention to this message.
Inclement Weather has become a threat to the Sand Canyon community. The single access road to the neighborhood will be impassible with the anticipation of Cache Creek washing over Pine Canyon Rd.
An Evacuation Order is in effect in the Sand Canyon area within Genasys Protect Zone 170-A:
ZONE BOUNDARIES
NORTH OF: Bakersfield Tehachapi Highway
SOUTH OF: Sand Canyon Road, Deer Trail
EAST OF: Sand Canyon Road
WEST OF: Sweetwater, Mk21

An evacuation order is a lawful order to leave now and seek shelter away from the area. The area is lawfully closed to public access. An Evacuation Order will likely be the last order given.
