INCIDENT: H&N655(f)- Felony Boating Under the Influence
LOCATION: Lake Havasu, near Black Meadow Landing
SUSPECT(S): Michael Anthony Hicks, 54-years-old, Resident of Corona, California
VICTIM(S): Confidential, 57-year-old female
Confidential, 21-year-old male
Confidential, 15-year-old male
SUMMARY: On August 17, 2023, at approximately 6:49 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a boating collision on Lake Havasu, near the area of Black Meadow Landing. Through investigation it was discovered Michael Hicks was operating his personally owned vessel southbound on Lake Havasu when the vessel collided with the California shoreline causing injuries to the three passengers on board. Lake Havasu City Fire Department treated the passengers and subsequently transported them to the Havasu Regional medical Center for further medical treatment.
Through investigation, it was determined Hicks was operating his vessel while under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. Hicks was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Hicks remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, with a bail amount of $30,000, awaiting a court hearing.
