On Monday, August 21,2023, at approximately 1:15pm, officers were called to Amarillo High School on a bomb threat. AISD put the school on lockdown. Amarillo Police, AISD Officers secured the parking lots and began searching the school. Additional officers and Randall County Deputies were called to assist and the parking lot was also searched. Once the school and parking lot were cleared, the students were allowed to leave school. We appreciate the parents, family and community allowing our officers to do their searches and protect the students and faculty and staff of Amarillo High School.

Amarillo Pd and AISD police officers are investigating a tip made at Amarillo High. AISD has the school locked down. All intersections and entrances to the school are being blocked. Please avoid the area and allow us to complete the investigation.
