SUBJECT: Subject arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
DATE/TIME: August 21st 2023
LOCATION: Spinas Park, Redwood City
Media Information: On August 8th at around 745 PM an assault occurred at Spinas Park in Redwood City. The suspect threw the victim onto the hood of a vehicle, held him down by his throat and punched him repeatedly in the face. The victim sustained injuries to his head and had to be treated at Kaiser Hosptial.
The suspect was identified as Jose Guadalupe Naranjo (48 years old) from Redwood City. An off-duty member of the Redwood City Police Department spotted Naranjo in a local coffee shop. Officer responded and took him into custody. Naranjo was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the charge of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
