Shooting Investigation - ECPD needs your help!

On Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 10:19 pm, El Cerrito and Richmond Police officers responded to a shooting incident. The incident began when suspects began chasing the victims in the City of Richmond, near the intersection of Macdonald Ave. and 1st St. As the victims fled eastbound in their car on Macdonald Ave., the suspects shot at them over the course of 50 city blocks, hitting the victims with bullets several times. When the victims entered El Cerrito, their vehicle collided with a parked car near the intersection with Mono Ave. The suspects fired at least 12 rounds at the victims and their disabled car before fleeing the scene.
 
El Cerrito and Richmond Officers located the victims and connected them with emergency medical attention. All three victims were transported to hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, all are expected to recover from their injuries.
 
The El Cerrito Police Department is looking for additional information into the people responsible for this crime. We are asking residents and businesses on Macdonald Ave. to review surveillance systems for images or video of this high-speed chase between 10:10 pm and 10:20 pm on Sunday night. We are also asking residents in the neighborhood of Macdonald Ave. and Mono Ave. to review video surveillance for images of the suspect vehicle fleeing the area.
 
The suspect vehicle was described as a black 4-door crossover sedan.
