Missing Children Located
On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 6:50 p.m., two families notified South Brunswick Police that their 5-year-old children were missing in the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex. The parents reported that the children were playing in front of their homes and were last seen at around 6:30 p.m. A dozen police officers began searching the area and knocking on residents' doors. The Millstone Valley Fire Department sent their drone unit to assist with searching. As police continued to search the neighborhood and nearby woods, an adult brought the two children to police and firefighters at 7:50 p.m. The children were in good health. Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter.
South Brunswick Police thank all the agencies who provided assistance in addition to the Millstone Valley Fire Department, including Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad, Middlesex County Prosecutors Office, and Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management.
