INDIANAPOLIS- On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for his alleged role in a recent homicide investigation.
On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, just before 6:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Southwest District officers responded to the 7100 block of Pluto Drive on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located what is believed to be an adult male, outside this location with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Wayne Township Medics responded and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation. Preliminarily, one individual was detained at the scene. The IMPD Chaplain’s Office and Victim Assistance Unit responded to the scene to offer assistance and support to community members impacted by this incident. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. The MCCO will release the decedent’s name once a proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
IMPD homicide detectives continued their investigation and identified the alleged suspect. This afternoon IMPD homicide detectives announced the arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile for his alleged involvement. He was charged with Murder.
The Marion County Prosecutors office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
