Deputies Respond to a Location Twice in the Same Night and Arrest Three People
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at approximately 12:13 p.m.
INCIDENT: Assault / Drunk In Public / Driving Under the Influence Alcohol- Traffic Collision
LOCATION: 6300 block of Richard Drive, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Savannah Sanchez, 24-year-old female, resident of Yucca Valley
Salisa Marin, 28-year-old female, resident of Yucca Valley
Manuel Tarango, 31-year-old male, resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): 21-year-old female, resident of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at approximately 12:13 p.m., Morongo Basin Station deputies responded to reports of an assault in the 6300 block of Richard Drive, in the Town of Yucca Valley. Deputies arrived on scene and determined Savannah Sanchez had assaulted the victim. Deputies determined there were no visible injuries from the assault. The victim desired prosecution, and Sanchez was issued a citation for the assault and given a court appearance date. All parties were separated and left the location.
Approximately one hour later, deputies responded to the same location for reports of a disturbance. Deputies arrived and heard a vehicle losing control nearby. Deputies located a crashed vehicle near Indio Avenue and David Avenue, Yucca Valley.
During the investigation, deputies determined Manuel Tarango was at the location with Savannah Sanchez and Salisa Marin consuming alcohol. An altercation occurred between Sanchez and Marin and unidentified persons. During the confrontation, Tarango and the victim left in a tan color sedan. A few seconds later, Tarango lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an empty lot. Tarango left the victim in the vehicle, and fled on foot. Deputies located Tarango a few minutes later and detained him. The victim who remained at the scene of the crash reported being pregnant and complained of pain. The victim was transported to High Desert Medical Center.
Savannah Sanchez and Salisa Marin were arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for drunk in public. Both were later cited and released.
Manuel Tarango was arrested and booked at Morongo Basin Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol with reported injuries. Bail was set at $340.000.
