* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Including the following areas, Anchorage, Matanuska Valley, Susitna Valley and Western Kenai Peninsula. This includes the cities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Indian, Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla, Sutton, Chickaloon, Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, Cooper Landing, Talkeetna, And Willow.
* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A storm system will approach the region Friday with periods of moderate to heavy rain possible from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. Expected rainfall totals: 0.7 To 1.5 inches across the Anchorage Bowl and Matanuska Valley, highest amounts near Hatcher Pass. 0.8 to 2.0 inches across the Susitna Valley, highest amounts from Talkeetna north. 0.5 to 1.0 inches across Western Kenai Peninsula, highest amounts along the immediate coast. These amounts are in addition to similar rainfall totals expected across the region for Thursday. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - If you live near or along any creeks, streams, or rivers stay alert and be prepared to take action. - Storm drains should be kept clear of debris as much as possible.
