On August 24, 2023, shortly after midnight, the Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate shooting incidents off of Marshland Road on Hilton Head Island.

At 12:26 a.m. deputies were called to the community commonly known as Roller’s Mobile Home Park, 201 Marshland Road, in reference to multiple reports of gunfire.  While responding to the area, deputies located several spent shell casings in the roadway leading into the mobile home park.   They also discovered that a mobile home, as well as a vehicle, had been damaged by gunfire. There were six people residing in the home, five adults and one child, at the time of the shooting.  No injuries were reported.

Shortly after receiving the call from 201 Marshland Road, the communications center received additional calls of shots being fired in the area of Pine Field Road.  Deputies discovered that a residence on Pine Field Road-approximately .25 miles away from the first incident- was also damaged by gunfire. The home was also occupied by six people at the time and no one was injured.

Investigators are working to determine what, if any, the commonality between the two may be.
