The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Logan County in central Illinois... De Witt County in central Illinois... Southeastern Tazewell County in central Illinois... Southern McLean County in central Illinois...

* Until 930 PM CDT.

* At 826 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near McLean, or 13 miles southwest of Bloomington, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near... Waynesville around 835 PM CDT. Bloomington around 840 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of this severe thunderstorm include Heyworth, Downs, Le Roy and Farmer City. This includes the following highways... Interstate 55 between mile markers 132 and 158. Interstate 74 between mile markers 133 and 157.

* AFFECTED AREAS: DE WITT, IL ... LOGAN, IL ... MCLEAN, IL ... TAZEWELL, IL

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
