* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Central Cabarrus County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... Mecklenburg County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... Southeastern Gaston County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 1115 PM EDT.

* At 1022 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Downtown Concord to near Gastonia, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include... Gastonia, Uptown Charlotte, Downtown Concord, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte and West Concord.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CABARRUS, NC ... GASTON, NC ... MECKLENBURG, NC

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
