Flood Advisory until 01:15AM Sunday
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Illinois, including the following county, Marion.
* WHEN...Until 115 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1006 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salem, Sandoval, Odin, Kinmundy, Patoka, Farina, Omega, Stephen Forbes Station, Fairman, Tonti, Iuka, Alma, Vernon, Brubaker and Selmaville.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MARION, IL
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
