DETAILS:  On Friday August 25, 2023 at 3:22 pm, Ptl. Thompson responded to Sarnoff on a report of an activated fire alarm.  Upon his arrival, he met with on site security who escorted to Building #110 West.  Upon approaching the building, Ptl. Thompson observed dark black smoke coming from an exterior door and the roof.  Ptl. Thompson relayed his findings to the Communications Center.  Members of the WW Division of Fire & Emergency Services  arrived on scene to extinguish the fire.  In addition, Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company, West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company, Plainsboro Fire Company, Princeton Fire Company, Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, and Hamilton Fire Department all responded to the scene.  

                Sgt. W. Jones and Det. Abade arrived on scene to continue the joint investigation with the WW Fire Marshal Jamison.  The Drone Unit continued to assist by looking for hot spots.  Preliminary fiindings were that the fire was determined to be on a wall in a laboratory room and was non-suspicious in nature.  No injuires were reported or observed.  The three story building sustained extensive damage to Lab #110 West.  The fire was deemed under control within 28 minutes.  Chief Garofalo and Chief Lynch would like to thank all of the responding agencies for quickly working together while bringing this incident to a safe outcome.
