Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety is informing residents of the following street closures for tomorrow (08/29/23) and Wednesday (08/30/23). Two locations are involved: Racing for Kids Event on 08/29 & 08/30 and a commercial shoot on 08/30.
- Racing for Kids Event. Kercheval Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic between Hall Place & McMillan Road starting Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. This closure is necessary to properly set up tents, vehicles, and equipment for the event on Wednesday. The free public event with thrill show will occur on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., followed by a V.I.P. charity fundraiser in the evening from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Kercheval Avenue will reopen at the conclusion of the event at approximately 11:30 p.m.
- On Wednesday morning, a commercial shoot will occur in the area near Jerry’s Club Party Store located at 381 Kercheval Avenue & Lakeview Avenue. Residents residing near this location will not be allowed to park on the street where signs will be posted. Please see the attached map for details regarding the no-parking area. Large trucks and film crews will be in the area. This area will be reopened by late afternoon on Wednesday.
Expect traffic congestion and delays if traveling near these locations. Please seek alternative routes.
