...STRONG WINDS, HIGH WAVES, AND MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...

Confidence is increasing that a strong low will bring impactful weather to the Aleutian Islands and Alaska Peninsula on Wednesday and Thursday.

Winds: Gusts of 40-50 mph likely, with gusts as high as 70 mph possible.

Waves: Wave heights up to 20 ft expected along the Central Aleutians and Southern Bering Sea, with 25-35 ft waves likely in coastal waters south of the Eastern Aleutians and Alaska Peninsula.

Rain: Rain totals of about 0.5 inches in the Eastern Aleutians,with 1-1.5 inches in the Central Aleutians and the Pacific coast of the Alaska Peninsula.

Preparedness: As the storm approaches, please monitor:  weather.gov/afc for forecast updates and begin securing loose objects that could be moved or damaged by strong winds.
