* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Cherokee and Clay. Portions of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Monroe and Polk.

* WHEN...Until 930 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 628 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain may result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Andrews, Murphy, Ducktown, Hayesville, Tellico Plains, Unaka, Hiawasse Dam, Violet, Marble, Culberson, Hot House, Coker Creek, Brasstown, Turtletown, William L.
