Edwards was charged with the following:
1. Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd ( B- FELONY)
2. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd ( B- FELONY)- TWO COUNTS
3. Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A- MISDEMEANOR)
4. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th(A-MISDEMEANOR)
Wright was charged with the following:
1. Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd ( B- FELONY)
2. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd ( B- FELONY)
ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Edwards and Wright were arraigned in front of the Honorable JudgeLisa W. Lorman in Amsterdam City Court. Bail was set at $10,000 cash for Edwards and Wright was remanded without bail to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE: Pursuant to an active and ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics occurring within the City of Amsterdam. TheAmsterdam Police Department and Montgomery County Regional SWAT team executed a search warrant on Monday August 28th at 6 Jay StreetApartment 1R. During the search of the residence detectives located and seized a quantity of cocaine, ecstasy pills, and paraphernalia associated with the trafficking of narcotics. At the 6 Jay Street apartmentthe Amsterdam Police located and arrested both targets of the investigation, Nathaniel E. Edwards and Raymond Wright Jr. Both suspects were wanted onactive arrest warrants after selling a controlled substances to police sources during the investigation.Both subjects were transported to Amsterdam Police headquarters where they were processed on the above charges. The Amsterdam Police Department was assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Officein this investigation.
