SUBJECT: Two separate incidences of child annoyance cases
DATE/TIME: August 18th and August 23rd 2023
LOCATION: Near Sequoia High School and #1 James, Redwood City
Media Information: Last week the Redwood City Police department two separate instances of female juveniles being harassed by unidentified males. On August 18th at around 3:40 PM at the bus turnaround located at #1 James, a 13 year old female juvenile was approached by a White Male Adult in his 50’s with only one eye. The subject offered her candy and marijuana cigarettes. The juvenile got on the bus without further incident.
Another, separate instance occurred on August 23rd at around 3:50 P.M. A 16 year old female Sequoia High School student was walking on the sidewalk on the 100 block of Arch Street. She was approached by a Hispanic Male Adult in his 20’s or early 30’s with a medium length beard and paint spattered clothing. He was driving an older white minivan. The unidentified subject asked the student for a massage in exchange for $150. The student left the area and immediately went to Sequoia High School.
At this point there doesn’t appear to be any connection to these cases. We are asking for the public’s help. If you have information regarding either of the suspects, please contact the Redwood City Police Department at 650-780-7100.
If you are a student and you are harassed by a stranger, or if you are the parent of child in those circumstances, please notify law enforcement as soon as possible. The sooner we receive the information the quicker we can assign investigators to work on it.
