| At approximately 8 am, on 08/28/23, the Sheboygan Police Department received a report of a robbery in progress at the BP gas station at 1208 Union Ave. The suspect attempted to grab cash from the register and a short scuffle occurred with the cashier before the suspect fled the scene. No items were taken by the suspect. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect. A School Resource Officer in the area located the suspect and coordinated with patrol officers to take the suspect into custody. The suspect, a 31-year-old Sheboygan man, was arrested for battery and strong armed robbery, taken to jail, and referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for charging. The cashier had minor injuries from the scuffle and there is no ongoing threat to the public. We are currently looking to speak with additional witnesses to this incident.
