A message from New Jersey American Water:

New Jersey American Water’s qualified contractor, CDM Smith, will be in Asbury Park beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2023, to assess the type of material that your water service lines are made of.
Water service lines connect the water main to your home or property and can be made of copper, plastic, galvanized steel, iron, or lead. If we contact you or come to your door, please help by answering a few questions. Staff will need to capture a photograph of the water service where it enters the building but will not have to turn water off to perform this inspection. Customers can also visit newjerseyamwater.com/leadfacts and self-report their service line material. Qualified contractors will carry official company photo I.D. badges and wear logoed, high visibility vests. Your assistance is very important in helping NJAW meet the mandated goal of identifying and replacing lead and galvanized service lines and replacing them by 2031.
