Expect heavy traffic at 9 p.m. in the area of Lake Shore Road & Moross Rd due to the GPF fireworks event. See link info

Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety would like to inform residents of the following.  The End of Summer Bash Fireworks Display will begin at 9:00 p.m. tonight between the Pier Park and the GP Yacht Club. The vehicle entrance to Pier Park will close at 8:30 p.m. to enhance pedestrian safety. Expect heavy traffic in the area before, during, and after the fireworks show. Please seek alternative routes if traveling through the area. 
 
Safety is always our top priority. To make sure everyone can enjoy the fireworks safely, please be aware of these precautions that will be in place:

The fireworks barge will be positioned north of Pier Park. Park visitors will have the best view of the display from the north sea wall. Spectators must stay out of the fenced area and off the asphalt pathway.
 
Boaters must stay out of the exclusionary zone beginning at 7:00 p.m. The U.S. Coast Guard and Wayne County Sheriff's Department will patrol the waters around the fireworks barge.
