Simi Valley, Calif. – On August 26, 2023 Two individuals were arrested for DUI, Nine drivers were cited for driving without a license, and two drivers were cited for other vehicle code violations at a DUI checkpoint on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
The DUI checkpoint was held on Royal Avenue at Buckskin Avenue from approximately 7:00 p.m. to time 1:00 a.m.
Nine drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed and 762 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held in December 2023.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
