INCIDENT: Quality of Life Operation
LOCATION: Multiple locations in Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On August 30, 2023, the Apple Valley Police Department along with Apple Valley Code Enforcement, San Bernardino Sheriff 's Homeless Outreach Proactive Engagement (HOPE), San Bernardino Sheriff's InnROADS, and County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health participated in a “Quality of Life” operation.
Organization members focused on providing resources to the homeless population within the town of Apple Valley. Fifty unhoused persons were contacted, of which one accepted assistance and was transported to a local homeless shelter. Fourteen criminal unhoused were arrested for various crimes including possession of illegal weapons, possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia, and outstanding warrants.
During the operation, multiple locations of illegal dumping and four homeless encampments were located, cleaned, and tagged for future clean up with the help of Apple Valley Code Enforcement.
