Stabbing/Domestic Violence
On 8/31/23, at 12:35 AM, Janesville officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Morningside Dr. for a stabbing. Dispatch advised officers there was a male victim who was stabbed in an arm by his girlfriend. The suspect left the area prior to police arrival. The male victim suffered a non-life-threatening single stab wound to his arm and was seen by paramedics at the scene. The victim refused medical treatment and refused to be transported for additional medical care.
The victim previously lived with the suspect in Illinois and established a domestic relationship. The scene was processed by an evidence tech and the weapon collected.
The area was thoroughly searched and at this time the suspect has not been located. The incident is believed to be isolated and there is no concern for the general public’s safety.
The incident remains under investigation.
