Missing Elderly Couple and Vehicle
Gilroy, CA - The Gilroy Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a missing elderly couple, Jose and Maria Dutra, who were last seen on August 30, 2023. The couple departed from their residence in Seaside with the intention of visiting Casa De Fruta located at 10021 Pacheco Pass Hwy, but they have not reached their destination as anticipated.
At approximately 10:30 pm on August 30th, their daughter had phone contact with them, during which they indicated that they were parked in a lot featuring a Target and a Jack in the Box restaurant possibly in the Gilroy area. Unfortunately, they did not provide any additional information regarding their whereabouts or plans.
Jose and Maria Dutra are both elderly individuals, and their safety is a concern due to their medical conditions. Maria may be experiencing the early stages of dementia, although she has not received formal treatment for the condition. Jose has a diagnosed case of dementia and is taking prescribed medication. It is believed that he does not have his prescribed medication with him.
The missing vehicle is described as a 2011 light brown/gold Honda CRV SUV with California license plate 6RWS841. It's important to note that the vehicle may exhibit front-end damage and could potentially be secured with silver duct-tape.
