DETAILS: On Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 10:14PM, Officers were called to Amarillo Boulevard West and Ong Street on a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The SUV was travelling Westbound on Amarillo Boulevard. The male pedestrian tried to run across the boulevard in front of the SUV and the driver of the vehicle was not able to stop in time, striking the pedestrian. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The pedestrian is identified as Marcos Stone, male, age 31. His next of kin has been notified. The Amarillo PD Traffic Investigation Unit is assigned this incident.
