On 09/01/2023 at approximately 7:10 PM, officers from the Petaluma Police Department Community Impact Response Team (CIRT) contacted a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Jaquelyn Lane and Jade Street in Petaluma. During the investigation, three male subjects were contacted inside of the vehicle. CIRT officers learned one of the occupants had a prior arrest for unlawful firearm possession.

After interviewing the subjects for a period of time, officers obtained consent to search the vehicle and located a loaded and unregistered concealed firearm with a high-capacity magazine that contained armor piercing rounds in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Based on the overall investigation, all three occupants were arrested for possessing an unregistered, concealed and loaded firearm, possessing a high-capacity magazine, and possessing armor piercing ammo. They were later transported to the Sonoma County Jail and booked.
