On Sunday, September 3, 2023, at approximately 9:40 P.M. a Simi Valley Police Officer was conducting extra patrol at the carnival, located in the Simi Valley Town Center. The Officer observed an altercation at the carnival and requested additional units to assist. The officer located a teenage male juvenile involved in the altercation, who had sustained stab wounds. The juvenile was subsequently transported to a local trauma center for his non-life threating injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the male juvenile victim was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. During the physical altercation, several other subjects became involved in the fight, which resulted in the male juvenile being stabbed. Witnesses described 3 to 4 Hispanic male juveniles fleeing the carnival eastbound after the altercation.
