Narrative:
 
On August 31st, 2023, West County Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) detectives arrested Nikko Weisfuss for felony unlawful transfer of a firearm, felony possession of an assault weapon and felony possession of a sawed-off rifle.
 
During the third week of August 2023, West County Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) detectives began an investigation into Weisfuss for illegal possession of firearms.
 
On August 31st, 2023, West County Special Enforcement Unit detectives obtained a signed search warrant for Weisfuss and his residence located at the 100 block of Tujunga Avenue in the city of Oxnard.
 
Later during the same day, detectives executed the search warrant and detained Weisfuss at his residence pursuant to the search warrant. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives seized 2 assault rifles, 1 shotgun, 4 handguns, firearm manufacturing parts, extended pistol magazines, and a large cache of ammunition.
 
Weisfuss was arrested for felony unlawful transfer of a firearm, felony possession of an assault weapon and felony possession of a sawed-off rifle.  
 
Weisfuss was transported to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and booked into custody.
 
On September 1st, 2023, Weisfuss posted $20,000 bail and was released from custody. Weisfuss is scheduled to appear for court on September 15th, 2023.
 
The West County Special Enforcement Unit is comprised of eight detectives whose focus is assisting patrol services with the investigation of various crimes including but not limited to the investigations of illegal firearms. The Sheriff’s Office has seen an increase in unlawful firearm activities in Ventura County, including illegal “ghost guns”.
