SUMMARY: On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station, assigned to the town of Yucca Valley, responded to the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Dumosa Avenue for a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Through investigation, deputies determined the 42-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Equinox failed to stop at a red light and collided with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was slowing down at a red traffic light when the collision occurred.
The 42-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries to his neck, lower back, and legs. Paramedics responded and transported the 42-year-old male driver to High Desert Medical Center for further medical treatment. The 62-year-old driver of the Jeep and 59-year-old female passenger did not sustain injuries from the collision.
