Full Notification

As many residents are aware, the railroad crossing gates at Main Street (Rt 523) and School Road have malfunctioned on several occasions recently.  On more than one occasion, the gates have either gone down when they should not have or not gone down when they should have.  NJ Transit was advised each time it happened and has been very responsive to our reports.  We were informed this morning that two separate issues were discovered and while they are still on-site making repairs and troubleshooting, the problems have been resolved.  In the short term, they will continue to follow their procedures, which is flagging trains through the intersections, until the work is complete.
