The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central Loudoun County in northern Virginia... Northeastern Warren County in northwestern Virginia... Southeastern Clarke County in northwestern Virginia... Northwestern Fauquier County in northern Virginia... South central Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

* Until 200 PM EDT.

* At 121 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Linden, or 8 miles east of Front Royal, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include... Berryville, Round Hill, Delaplane, Bluemont, Saint Louis, Howellsville, Gaylord, Wickliffe, Blue Mountain, Upperville, Markham, Philomont, Bethel, Paris, and Rippon.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CLARKE, VA ... FAUQUIER, VA ... LOUDOUN, VA ... WARREN, VA ... JEFFERSON, WV

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm.
