SUSPECT(S): Terrell Barnes Johnson, Age 36, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at approximately 6:18 p.m., deputies with the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a subject check at the Shell Gas Station located at 11289 Baseline Road, in Rancho Cucamonga.
The reporting party called about a male adult inside of a vehicle with a child. The male adult appeared to be impaired and was yelling at the child. Prior to deputies arriving on scene, the reporting party was able to get the child and keep them safe.
When deputies arrived, they contacted the driver, Terrel Barnes Johnson, who exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Johnson was heavily intoxicated, and was unaware of the child’s whereabouts. Johnson was arrested and booked in at the West Valley Detention Center. The child was not injured and was released to a family member.
