Two suspects arrested in attempted murder case
On July 8th 2023 at around 0201 hours a shooting occurred in the parking lot Of Denny’s restaurant, 1201 Broadway, Redwood City. After an altercation inside the restaurant, two subjects fired approximately 15 rounds of 9mm at the victims and their vehicle. At this point in the investigation it doesn’t appear that anyone was struck.
The Redwood City Police Department’s Investigations Division conducted an extensive operation to identify the shooters and arrest them. On August 25th Redwood City resident Sergio MontanoZaragoza (33 years old) was arrested. A search warrant was served at his residence where a loaded 9mm handgun was seized. Also located and seized were cocaine packaged for sales. He was booked into the San Mateo County jail for three counts of Attempted Murder, Assault With A Deadly Weapon, Possessing Cocaine For Sales and other charges.
RCPD Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for his accomplice, Redwood City resident Omar SaavedraReynaga (22 years old) for being an accessory to the crime. He was arrested on September 6th and also booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
