Flood advisory issued; Flooding possible in low-lying areas
The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Northern New Jersey. A flood advisory is in effect for Hudson County, including Hoboken, until 4:45 p.m. due to potential strong thunderstorms predicted for our area.
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) reminds residents to exercise caution as any intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding in low-lying areas. Residents should avoid flood-prone areas. Do not drive around barricades.
Please report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the NHSA Hotline at (866) 689-3970.
Residents should monitor local forecasts for additional advisories, watches, and warnings. Updates will be posted on the Hoboken OEM Twitter page at @HobokenOEM. Residents are also encouraged to monitor the City’s Twitter at @CityOfHoboken and Facebook at facebook.com/hoboken, or sign up to receive email or text updates by visiting www.hobokennj.gov/alerts.
