On Saturday, September 9, 2023 at approximately 1650 hours, the Readington Township Police were dispatched to Garrett Place for a male attempting to open the rear door of a residence. The male was confronted by the homeowner and fled on foot towards Central Ave.  The male matched the same description from a theft of services that had  just occurred at Kitchen American Grill. Patrol checked the area and K9 Agar tracked the suspect to the rear of 422 Rt. 22 west. K9 Agar and his handler located James E. Haywood (33) out of Greenwood, Indiana inside the vacant building. Haywood was taken into custody and charged with theft of services, defiant trespass and criminal trespass. Haywood was processed and lodged at the Warren County Jail.
